Crazy shifts must fit us

This is our first blog. Kirby isn't here to add to it, but I wanted to post his cool pics. He planted these Datura last spring and they are awesome. We love walking outside in the evening to find certain ones have bloomed. The other pic is of Skip, our Tortoise. He is 5 yrs now and will continue to get bigger. He looks like a dinosaur marching around our backyard.
This is Kirby's first night shift in a while . After what seems like a week of 7am-5pm shifts, we were actually ready for a change. We got a little tired of him coming home, both of us tired, eating dinner , giving kids baths and putting them to bed and barely being able to make it through the news without crashing out. There was no time, for relaxed family time outside or walks. However every night, Kirby does fit in doing a "concert" with Gwen and Claire. He plays the guitar and sings and Gwen sings and sometimes plays her guitar. (Claire pretty much just runs in circles for entertainment) Needless, to say even with that very important time, he missed the girls alot and they missed him too. I did not realize how much we really do get to be together as a family when he is working night shifts and being home during the day. I also didn't realize how well, his crazy shifts fit our lifestyle. We get bored of the same thing very quickly! All that said, tonight I'll miss him tremendously and after a few of these shifts we'll be ready for change again.

I want to come back as a Reed kid - those concerts sound like so much FUN!
Really? Then it's safe to say you've not heard Kirb sing then? :-)
