To-do lists completed, life incomplete

Wow, over 6wks have passed since my last entry. I've had more on my mental plate than usual for the past few weeks. As the triplex renovation nears completion, I feel like I may be on the cusp of getting my life back. Over the past 5mos I've felt consumed by task-oriented, to-do list living. My way of handling task-centered living lacks color and friends. As this period wanes I look forward to seeing friends and family more..and the beach...and reading..and exercise.. I was reminded how important this stuff is this past weekend.
Our friends from Costa Rica, Maria and Alfredo and their 2yr/o Cristina visited. We met in Austin in 2000 when they lived in the apt above us during our1st year of grad school and marriage. Their friendship has added so much to our lives over the distance and years. We went to Doc's restaurant overlooking the laguna, then to the beach, then the playground at sunset. It was a great visit. The girls think Cristina's like a real life Dora the Explorer, spanish and everything (except Dora doesn't have Cristina's blue eyes).
