New home security system

Yesterday Sunny and I had a date at the local shooting range. I didn't realize she had no real experience in this so we spent a bit of time on essentials like posture and grip. Most importantly she learned the barrel ALWAYS stays pointed down range no matter what (note the little pistol not in use in front of her also continues pointing forward).

She learned well and fast despite her early trepidation. She proved her skills when a very hot ejected shell went down her shirt while firing. She abrubtly put on the 'safe', set it down muzzle forward, and began flapping her shirt like a roach crawled in there.

I understood better when an hour later a dime-sized, high-topped blister surfaced. Youch! This is kinda common and untrained or panicky types frequently forget about the gun and wave it wildly while trying to get the burning brass off their skin. Getting accidentally shot in the face or foot would probably hurt. I was proud of her self-control (or is it 'gun control'?). Maybe if she lets me, I'll post a pic of the blister for the amusement of her out of town friends.

How fun. Bummer about the blister. We like to shoot. Although we've never done it at a range. We used to just put targets up in the fields behind my Popoo's house in Louisiana when he was alive.

I'm so not letting my Sohlmate read this one; he'll try to convince me that if Sunny can do it, so can I. Your wife rocks!
