Gwen and Claire fish Packery's North Jetty

Kevin snapped these shots of Gwen and Claire hooking onto some large tarpon off Packery Channel's north jetty (cool slideshow link here). No they didn't actually hook anything, but Gwen looks like she's really working on a fish in one.

They liked it so much that I've bought them both little kids' fishing rods for diversion when the new baby arrives sometime very soon. Claire's is a Dora fishing rod and Gwen's is a pink Barbie fishing rod. They will get them after their brother or sister is settled in the house and begins consuming all the attention they formerly commanded.

Two days ago Skip the tortoise managed to climb out of the kiddie pool all by himself. He also pushed aside a small motor/generator I use to block the garage door so he can't escape. Luckily I was in front of the house and saw him coming into the garage as he pushed the door open hard enough to slide that generator out of the way. He's the equivalent of a pre-teen and his strength amazes me in ways dorky guys like me can totally drop jaw about.
