The best skimming day

Last week we had the best day on the beach we've seen in recent months. It was maybe 78F with light cool breezes with a low tide. There was a high sandbar near the shoreline that made a broad area for thin water perfect for sliding on a skimboard. Landing on my belly bruised my bony hip bones. I aimed at Sunny for a pic and nearly plowed thru her and the girls and had to grab sand to stop before knocking them over. After 2hrs, the girls were tired out. Claire fell asleep on the beach and I had to carry her back. This is the best time of the year. Water is still warm but the weather is cooler, and there's fewer people on the beaches.
