"I will die too...like the fish"

I've had ich (a parasite disease that affects tropical fresh and saltwater fishes) wipe out 1/2 of my fish in my tank. The most notable death was my yellow tang whom I'd only had a week. He was a cool big yellow guy that roamed constantly looking for algae to eat. As the newest edition, he was probably the source of the disease as well. The girls liked him. A few days ago we found him lying on the sand breathing hard and I told the girls he was dying. They checked on him regularly. While I was at work Sunny said Claire stared at him awhile and said in a tone of pensive resignation "I will die too. Just like the fish." It's ironic how we sometimes live as though we've forgotten those things we've realized even as young as 2 years old. In time she should understand her immortal soul and not sigh with resignation when she sees death. Meanwhile, I will try to clear out this ich.

Plato, Aristotle, Socrates, and Claire ... it works. I'm impressed! Our 2 year old is pondering Santa Claus.

Sorry to hear about your fish. I am not sure where he wrote the lyrics to that song but I just know it is a powerful song. I did try to look it up but not find anything about it.
Happy New Year,
Janice
