The Gopher is dead...and leftover recent event pics

The big news is yesterday's Gopher slaying. Those who know me are aware of the perpetual war between a pocket gopher and I for more than a year. He's killed various ornamental plants by eating the roots, digging tunnels, and heaping ugly mounds. He has mocked my many wire traps, various buried poisons, smokebombs (they don't work in sand), sound and vibration emitters, and even a close-range shot at his face with a .22 pistol. Yesterday I saw him starting a new mound (RARE) and I managed to walk softly behind the hole with a shovel. When his head popped out I dug in with the shovel and took him out. I was so jazzed. The war ended with one simple strike. Gwen's reaction was "Can I see his guts?" I had to honor such a request so with forceps they held his belly skin while I dissected down into the abdominal cavity and removed the organs individually while explaining their functions. They loved it. Claire's request was "Can I cut his arms off?" which I didn't allow since that's just plain creepy. In my blood lust I dropped the camera and now we're ready for a new one. There may be a gap in pics until we get one.

Below is a pic of Gwen at her spring program, the girls and Race in the laundry, and some mexico trip remnants.

Wow, the gopher is so small . . . looks nothing like the Caddie Shack dancing gopher! Seeing the pic of him "shoveled to rest" made the Oz's wicked witch is dead song come to my mind. How does that song go?

The MIGHTY Hunter has conquered! That is great news! I have wanted that gopher's blood on your hands so you too can feel the pain and burden of being a natural born killer. You as I were raised on the BB gun and many of innocent bird, lizard, and occasional housecat have met their demise at my steady hand. All Hail!!
REGULATORS.....MOUNT UP!

I don't know whether to laugh or throw up! Can't believe those 2 beauty queens are in the same pic as a dead gopher. My kids would be FREAKED OUT!

Great pics of you guys at the beach.

Me and Jän had a good laugh at the gopher entry. Your girls are beautiful and aren't afraid of dead animals. They will be quite the catch when they get older.
