Race turned 1 on Oct 11. Sunny's sister and her husband had birthdays the same weekend. So family visited and we celebrated all 3 in one swing. We spent a few hours at the beach Sat morning and it was beautiful even though the surf was lame. Jason and I were able to beg a few rides from the 1-2ft 'breaks'. Later we ate stuff and gifts were swapped. Race thought his birthday cupcake would be great to knock down as it was presented to him by Gwen (see video for the action). At sunset we walked the jetty to see the nightfall as sea turtles bobbed for algae. It was an excellent day.
Oh my. I probably shouldn't laugh, but that video is one of the funniest things I have ever seen. At least for this week. The way you guys were happily singing, and then everything just stopped, dead silence. I watched it more than once. And Sunny had probably slaved all day over that cupcake! Happy Birthday Race!! I can't believe you're 1.
Kirby, Just wanted to say I am leaving the blogging world. I have enjoyed reading you blog the past year and a half. You always have such great stories. See you at church. Janice
I had to watch the video twice because Race was so fast that I missed what had happened. You need to put that boy into baseball... he'd be a great pitcher!

Happy Birthday Race. I had to watch that video about five times. I love Sunny's reaction! HILAR!
You forgot to mention the cupcake was lit! Good thing her Dad's a doc. Happy birthday, to the cutest red head around.
How can your baby be one already? Time flies. You have a tough little girl there, mine would have been freaking out for sure. Happy Birthday Race!
Bummer dude.
I have to admit that I watched the video a dozen times laughing my rear off! Happy birthday Race!!!!
